I am a complex systems engineer with four decades of experience doing one thing: figuring out what systems actually do. Not what they are supposed to do, not what the people who built them say they do — what they actually do. That discipline is the engine of my writing.

Every system has truths it can’t see from the inside. Kurt Gödel proved this for arithmetic in 1930: no system can fully describe itself from within its own axioms, because its instruments are built inside it and can’t reach outside what built them.

My work starts from the idea that this holds far beyond mathematics, in institutions, markets, relationships, and the explanations we build to navigate them. The writings look for the boundary, where an explanation attaches to the nearest visible node because the right one lives outside the instruments’ reach. Every step outside the frame is temporary. The work is to keep taking it.
